I’m not sure whether I agree with Conway’s choice of html5lib over, say, lxml or Mysql for Python over SQLAlchemy; but all the other choices are good. Realistically though, lxml and SQLAlchemy are for full-time developers not scientists who just want results. Good list.

Khtml2PNG allows one to take screenshots of a web page from Linux. It requires an X server, but fortunately there’s Xvfb.
