Mr. Eves had this to say in response to the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.globeandmail.com\/servlet\/story\/RTGAM.20030917.welxn0917\/BNStory\/National\/\" title=\"Grits accuse Tories of controlling SARS review\">Liberals attempts to accuse the provincial Tories of hindering the efforts of an independent <acronym title=\"Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome\">SARS<\/acronym> review<\/a> (emphasis mine):<\/p>\n<blockquote cite=\"http:\/\/www.theglobeandmail.com\/servlet\/story\/RTGAM.20030918.weves0918\/BNStory\/SpecialEvents4\/\">\n<p>&#8220;The Liberal spin doctors put the spin on that &#8212; that I am ordering people to shut up,&#8221; Mr. Eves said. &#8220;Nothing could be further from the truth, and it&#8217;s that kind of, I would say, <em>almost libelous action on behalf of the Liberal campaign team, that surely the people of Ontario are objective enough to see through<\/em>.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>My only explanation is that Ernie Eves suffers from some sort of multiple personality disorder which prohibits him from recalling his almost certainly libelous three-week campaign against Dalton McGuinty and the Liberals.
